Keep Fit

The leader of the Keep Fit sessions is a lady called Marie Trainer - yes that's her real name. Marie has been running this activity in the Church Hall for over 13 years now, holding sessions now on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The charge for each of the sessions is just 2.00, which means everyone gets extremely good value for money!!

The Monday sessions (13:30 to 14:30) are all about safe but effective exercises to music, and include stretching activities to help promote flexibility and suppleness. The lessons also help in training the muscles to provide toning to all parts of the body. The real benefit from the sessions of course, comes from the general feeling of being a little more sprightly and supple everyday, but of course, only for those attending regularly!! This is the more established of the three groups, having usually up to 20 members at each session.

Wednesday's (10:00 - 11:00) are for those feeling a little braver or who feel they are already reasonably fit, as it's a little more fast paced and includes aerobic exercises. You may realise you're not as fit as you thought you were after an hour on Wednesdays, but that's what it's all about - getting you in even better shape. We'd recommend you bring a towel, water and perhaps wear a headband - even the ladies find they're perspiring heavily at the end of the session. Age is no restriction here, as present members are aged between 20 and 70 years of age.

The Thursday afternoon group, meeting from 1:45 to 2:45, is attended by those who are definitely in the 'fit' group! Where the first two groups could be classed as beginner and intermediate levels, this is the advanced class. At present there are only about six people up to this standard, but if you feel you're up to it, you'll be more than welcome to come and swell the ranks!

Although making new friends is not compulsory at either sessions, you'll find it difficult not to find you're chatting with a number of the friendly members, in a very short time. So why not try it, there's so much to gain and nothing to lose(except a few pounds!!).
